About River Music
River Music is a music school based on the Hawkesbury River in NSW, Australia. It is run by multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer James Daley. A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Daley was enrolled under a Merit Scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Musicology/Music Education (Honours) in 2012. He has over 15 years professional experience as an educator and performer.
Performing Experience
Daley has recorded and performed with Keith Urban, Andrew Farris (INXS), William Barton, Matt Mason (DMA’S) won an Australian Song Writing Award and been nominated for a Golden Guitar. His own work consists of the award winning bluegrass band The Morrisons and chamber folk outfit Royal Duck. These original acts have featured at major festivals around the country including Sydney Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and Vivid.
Education experience
Daley has a wealth of experience in primary, high school and community based music education. This includes private tuition, ensemble conducting (instrumental and choral) and classroom music. He has also taught in Montessori schools and worked in indigenous education as part of the Jarjum School in Redfern.
